Kudeta

In Bali, we spent many sunsets at this bar/restaurant/club on the beach called Kudeta. Many gorgeous days, and yummy drinks :) Oh yeah, and I sorta killed darrin -- he tried to get the last of the sangria!

From Tokyo kitties!

In tokyo we went to a cafe that was all kitties! You paid, pet the kitties, and could get a private room with a kitty - where they would put a silly hat on said kitty. Adorable!!!!

best place ever!!! (pictures to come soonish)

Tons of cats all over in 4 "themed rooms" that look pretty housey. But that's not even the best part!

The best part is that for 600yen, you can get a "private room" and choose your favorite kitty. Then one of the staff members takes him/her, puts a funny hat on them, and then you get to play with them all to yourself for about a half hour (we got an extra 10 minutes!) So much purrs! My kitty was a pirate!

Tokyo!

I made it to tokyo, and cried because i'm leaving bali!

Though in awesome news, we're about to go to a cafe called cats livin -- you go into a room with kitties and get to pet and play with them all!!

Disaster in paradise!

Turns out our hotel in ubud gave away our room because i didn't email them back after receiving the confirmation page (grrr!) so scrambling to find a place. Pretty much everywhere is booked - I think I found a villa about 20km outside the city, for about 3x the price :( (ok, the 4 seasons has availability but that's 800/night -- which is about the average yearly wage here!)

Perth

Due to Qantas cancelling the midday flight, our long but manageable layover turned into an 8 hour layover! So we decided to go into the city a bit.

Pretty but not quite enough character for me. We did find a good beer bar and had some french fries though!!

And we saw at customs a cobra in a bottle of wine.

vampirates!

So last night (sorry, no pictures were allowed.... they want to charge you a ridiculous amount for them), we went and saw Vampirates! at the Dracula dinner theatre. We also sat across the table from a "psychic" who had been to see the Dracula people a ton of times. She also got pretty drunk off of two cocktails.

The show was definitely entertaining though the food left a lot to be desired. It even started out with a funhouse-style haunted house ride, which was pretty cool. Lots of making fun of new zealanders -- my favorite joke i think was something like "Kiwis are really upset nowadays because the price of sheep has gone up by 5 dollars........ an hour"

Melbourne

So my hotel is hijacking dns and attempting to redirect all the major pages to their own servers... which are down. I wrote them a slightly threatening letter and so I might get my net access cut off (I mean, they are doing something basically illegal). Don't worry if you don't hear from me for another 6 days :)

PS - For you non-techies (Hi mom!) it means that when i type in www.google.com instead of going to google, they try to send me to their own webpage.... which fails because their webpage is down. It'd be like me putting up a sign that says mcdonalds on my house and covering up the closest mcdonalds... only to obviously not sell burgers because i think mcdonalds is gross, but the normal mcdonalds can't get any business!

Here in Melbourne -- jetlagged and no new pictures. The Westin here is gorgeous though!

At SFO airport lounge

Currently am chilling at the JAL airport lounge and watching planes take off - lots of virgin america flights, which is pretty sweet!
